Location: Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario, 651 Burlington St. E., Hamilton, ON L8L 4J5
This holiday season, the Mission to Seafarers Southern Ontario is seeking the generous support of CBMU volunteers to make a difference in the lives of seafarers arriving at our ports.
With your help, we can provide these dedicated men and women with small yet meaningful tokens of appreciation for their hard work. We are seeking donations of warm scarves, socks, hats, toiletries, decks of cards, note pads and pens, and festive treats like candies and chocolates. For the seafarers who spend months away from loved ones, these thoughtful items will serve as a reminder that they are valued and remembered.
How You Can Help
Join us at the Mission to Seafarers on December 3rd, where we’ll be gathering to assemble “Christmas Bags” or “Ditty Bags” filled with these gifts for distribution to the crews of incoming ships. Working together to pack these bags is a meaningful project, and we’re calling on volunteers to lend a hand—4 to 6 helpers are especially needed!
With 90% of goods arriving in Canada by sea, these seafarers are essential to our way of life. Let’s show our gratitude by making their holiday season a little brighter. We hope to see you on December 3rd for a day of teamwork and goodwill as we bring a smile to the faces of those who bring us so much.
